In response to the wave of AI technology, the Department of Interior Design has introduced three courses - "Computer Drawing I," "Smart System Design and Application," and "Space Activation Design" - to incorporate AI tools such as ChatGPT and Stable Diffusion into teaching. This is an opportunity to encourage everyone to learn new technology. These AI tools not only enhance the efficiency of space rendering and post-production, but also provide problem-solving, generate design concepts, and produce images and schemes. Mastering the principles of space activation design and generating possible images can provide effective case references to help you improve your learning efficiency in the field of interior design.

Since the release of ChatGPT by OpenAI in late October 2022, artificial intelligence is rapidly changing many industries, including interior design. By using AI tools such as ChatGPT, designers or students can quickly and easily generate ideas and create new design concepts to communicate more effectively with clients (or teachers). Similarly, Stable Diffusion can help create high-resolution space simulations and visualizations, making it easier for clients (or teachers) to understand the designer's or student's ideas.

Integrating AI tools into the design process can not only save time, improve accuracy, and enhance work quality, but also understanding AI and its application in interior design can help designers or students stand out in the highly competitive interior design market or design competitions.

Therefore, the Department of Interior Design timely introduces the teaching videos of the three courses and encourages teachers and students to use existing resources to explore new technologies such as ChatGPT and Stable Diffusion through comprehensive feedback. Through such communication, students can not only improve their skills and knowledge, but also have the opportunity to make substantial contributions to the progress of the field of interior design.
